Across the Chalk Line
Site-specific installation, 2019

Over the past 25 years artist Gary Simmons has been exploring the boundaries of race, racial identity and art and culture. For the 2020 Lahore Biennale Gary a Simmons will recreate his Across The Chalk Line, an hybrid of site specific art installation and a public space for the local community. Raised in a West Indian family Simmons draw a biographical connection to the the colonial game of Cricket by creating a space for kids to gather and play.
